Uganda has a total of 47 airstrips and airfields, with five of them having paved runways and 42 unpaved. Here are some of the major airports and airstrips in Uganda:

Major Airstrips and Airfield:

  • Entebbe International Airport: The largest airport in Uganda, serving as the country’s only international airport.
  • Gulu Airport: A civilian and military airport in the Northern Region of Uganda.
  • Nakasongola Airport: The largest airport in Uganda used exclusively for military purposes.
  • Mutukula Airport: A civilian and military airport located near the Tanzanian border.
  • Soroti Airfield: A civilian airport in the Eastern Region of Uganda.

Other Notable Airstrips:

These airports and airstrips are managed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and cater to various domestic and international flights

Important Notes:

  • Murchison to West requires a minimum of 4 pax and operates daily
  • North refers to Pakuba, Bugungu and Chobe airstrips (Murchison Falls National Park) and require a minimum 4 Pax
  • Kidepo will require a minimum 7 pax and will operate on Wed, Fri and Sun. West refers to Kihihi, Kasese, Semliki and Mweya.
  • Semliki requires a minimum of 4 pax.
  • Jinja to Kihihi/Kasese/Mweya flight on request.
