Airstrips and Airfields in Uganda

Uganda has a total of 47 airstrips and airfields, with five of them having paved runways and 42 unpaved. Here are some of the major airports and airstrips in Uganda:

Major Airstrips and Airfield:

• Entebbe International Airport: The largest airport in Uganda, serving as the country’s only international airport.
• Gulu Airport: A civilian and military airport in the Northern Region of Uganda.
• Nakasongola Airport: The largest airport in Uganda used exclusively for military purposes.
• Mutukula Airport: A civilian and military airport located near the Tanzanian border.
• Soroti Airfield: A civilian airport in the Eastern Region of Uganda.

Other Notable Airstrips:

• Masindi Airport: Serving Murchison Falls National Park
• Pakuba/Chobe Airstrip: Serving Murchison Falls National Park
• Arua Airfield: Serving the Northern Region
• Kasese Airstrip: Serving Queen Elizabeth National Park & Kibale Forest National Park
• Mweya Airstrip: Serving Queen Elizabeth National Park
• Kidepo Airstrip: Serving Kidepo Valley National Park
• Kisoro Airstrip: Serving Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park
• Kihihi Airstrip: Serving in Queen Elizabeth National Park
• Bugungu Airtrip – Serving Murchison Falls National Park
• Jinja Airstrip -Serving Jinja and Eastern region
• Mbarara Airstrip-: Serving Lake Mburo National Park and the western region
• Semuliki Airstrip – Serving Semuliki National Park and the wesern region

These airports and airstrips are managed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and cater to various domestic and international flights

Important Notes:

• Murchison to West requires a minimum of 4 pax and operates daily
• North refers to Pakuba, Bugungu and Chobe airstrips (Murchison Falls National Park) and require a minimum 4 Pax
  
• Kidepo will require a minimum 7 pax and will operate on Wed, Fri and Sun. West refers to Kihihi, Kasese, Semliki and Mweya.
• Semliki requires a minimum of 4 pax.
• Jinja to Kihihi/Kasese/Mweya flight on request.
