Each of these lodges offers a unique and unforgettable experience, with stunning views, luxurious amenities, and unparalleled access to Volcanoes National Park’s incredible wildlife.
They include:-
Wilderness Bisate Lodge: Wilderness Bisate’s six Forest Villas, tucked into a swathe of rehabilitated Virunga Massif cloudforest, are exceptional, inside and out. Perched dramatically on the edge of an eroded volcanic crater at Volcanoes National Park in north-western Rwanda, the lodge has breath-taking views of the brooding Bisate and Karisimbi volcanic peaks, and is within easy driving distance of the park’s headquarters, where daily gorilla treks begin.
Experience: While spending an hour with the mountain gorillas is no doubt the star attraction, there are many other thrilling encounters that await you at Volcanoes National Park and surroundings – from golden monkey trekking to climbing Mount Bisoke, hiking to the ruin of Dian Fossey’s research centre, and her burial site, to visiting the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Singita Kwitonda Lodge Boasting breathtaking views of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes and surrounded by high-altitude forests, Singita Kwitonda Lodge offers an experience unlike any of Singita’s other destinations. With its exceptional natural beauty, environmentally conscious luxury and transformative, purpose-driven experiences, the lodge was designed in response to this remarkable location, and the eight contemporary suites (as well as the private four-bedroom villa – Kataza House) are linked by volcanic rock pathways to the central lodge.
The interiors emphasise local design and handcrafted details adorn the carefully planned spaces. Layered textures and colours enhance the reflective quality of this tranquil haven and an experiential enclave offers free-flowing indoor and outdoor areas. A convivial fire pit, interactive kitchen, bar-deli and wine cellar complete the picture.
Wilderness Sabyinyo: The views from Sabyinyo across Karisimbi, Bisoke, Mikeno and Sabyinyo volcanoes can only be described as cinematic. And each charming cottage, (discreetly tucked away in the folds of the hills), offers a front row view.
After a thrilling day exploring the park, guests meet in the convivial main lodge, which has been designed to create an intimate space for guests to unwind in and share the day’s adventures. Open log fires, and assorted seating areas in the main lounge and dining room create a luxuriously warm and inviting atmosphere.
Experience: Besides thrilling mountain gorilla and golden monkey trekking, there is much to see and discover at Sabyinyo. Guests can hike to Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke and marvel at the stunning views, hike to the ruin of Dian Fossey’s research centre, and her burial site and visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. – Virunga Lodge: This eco-lodge offers eight bandas with private verandas and stunning views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. Guests can enjoy gorilla trekking, hiking, and birdwatching, as well as relax in the lodge’s spa and swimming pool.
Virunga Lodge: The magnificent Virunga Lodge in Rwanda is one of Africa’s most loved lodges. Perched high on a ridge with dramatic views overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes, Musanze valley, Lake Bulera and Lake Ruhondo.
The iconic property has defined Rwandese Afro-chic since the lodge was built by Praveen Moman in 2004. The timeless, hand-made style makes it the first accommodation choice for tracking the endangered mountain gorilla.
Exceptional hospitality, locally-inspired food and a private butler are hallmarks of the guest experience.
Each of the ten elegant bandas has a private terrace overlooking the dramatic landscape. The three deluxe bandas offer a private suite.
One & Only Gorillas Nest Lodge: Surrounded by swaying eucalyptus trees and broad volcanic mountains; this is an environment that awakens a vibrant energy within you. A place that encourages you to gaze into the mirror through eye opening encounters with majestic mountain gorillas and experience the story of Rwanda.
From the moment you arrive, fragrant fauna and flora greet you. A hidden garden atop the volcanic mountains where a world of roses and eucalyptus trees grown all year round in fertile Rwandan soil.
